EXTRUSION LINES FOR GEOMEMBRANE POLYETHYLENE PE POLYPROPYLENE PP: features and application
Geomembrane is a synthetic material used in various industries, from construction to agriculture. It serves to separate different layers of soil, protect against moisture penetration and other tasks. Geomembranes are made from a variety of materials, including polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).
Extrusion lines are used to produce geomembranes from these materials. They include a number of processes, ranging from the preparation of raw materials to the formation of finished products.
Stages of geomembrane production on an extrusion line:
– Preparation of raw materials: granules of polyethylene or polypropylene are fed into an extruder, where they are melted and mixed.
– Extrusion: The molten material passes through an extrusion head where it is formed into a filament.
– Fabric formation: The threads are woven on a loom to form a geomembrane.
– Processing of the canvas: the finished canvas passes through rollers, which level it and give it the desired shape.
– Quality control and packaging: the geomembrane is checked for defects, after which it is packaged and sent to the warehouse or to the customer.
